Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery

Vitreoretinal Service

The Vitreoretinal Service is dedicated to excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of medical and surgical conditions of the retina. Duke retina doctors treat diseases such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, macular holes, retinal occlusions, and penetrating ocular trauma.

If you are a patient in need of information concerning your visit to the Vitreoretinal Service, please browse Patient Information. You will find useful information about your visit and the types of people involved in your care in What to Expect at your Visit.  Duke retina doctors also see patients in Retina Clinics in Danville, Va., Cary, Fayetteville, Raleigh, Wilmington, and Wilson.

If you are a physician in need of referral information, please go to Referrals/Services for a list of the provided services and referral numbers.

In Meet the Doctors, you will find short biographical sketches on the Duke Vitreoretinal faculty members. This will be helpful for physicians referring patients with special problems or for patients seeking information about the Vitreoretinal faculty.
