Sharon Fekrat, MD, FACS, specializes in the diagnosis and medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal disease. She is currently the President of the North Carolina Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

Research Interests

Fekrat has a particular interest in novel therapeutic options for central, branch and hemi retinal vein occlusion as well as eyes with neovascular age-related macular degeneration. She is the site's principal investigator for many ongoing clinical trials for retinal vein occlusion and age-related macular degeneration. She is actively involved in evaluating these options in eligible individuals.
