Background

Karl G. Csaky, MD, PhD, is a retina specialist and scientist. In addition, he diagnoses and treats medical retina diseases such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Macula Society, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Csaky is fellowship trained in retina disease and is board certified in ophthalmology.

Research Interests

Csaky conducts both laboratory and clinical research, and has directed research on new therapies for age-related macular degeneration.  His laboratory is studying the pathogenesis of all forms of age-related macular degeneration, investigating the use of sustained drug delivery as a therapeutic modality.
